Sometimes Riley and Jack have to be the ones to fight other people's battles and stand up for what is right.
With the life-changing prospect of a yes vote from SCOTUS on the issue of same-sex marriage, Riley and Jack realize they have decisions to make. Add in some distressing family news and the very real possibility that old secrets may resurface, and this audiobook in the Texas series pulls together as many threads as the boys can manage to handle.
But through all the ups and the downs, children, family events, laughter, and tears, there is nothing as special as the forever love between these two men.

I tried hard to spread this book over a couple of days, but I just couldn't do it, I devoured it. This is a favorite series of mine that I'll likely listen to again and again. I love the world Scott built with Riley and Jack at the center. Their love story got a slow start out of the gate and hit a few hurdles along the way, but at the end of the day they are 100% committed to each other and their family that continues to evolve and grow.
A lot of loose ends were tied up, but then there was a morsel thrown in that could lead to a spin off series. The cowboy and het-boy are going to live happily ever after. Two crazy jobs, three kids and counting, more babies on the way for family, grumpy Jack and sometimes slightly schizo Riley and a badass bed in the "their barn" happily ever after.
Sean Crisden truly brought these guys to life in the book that started this roller coaster love story, The Heart of Texas, and I'm so happy he's continued with the series. The deep, throaty growl that I've come to associate with Jack Campbell Hayes has ruined me for all cowboys. I want them all to sound like Jack! What really impressed me is how Crisden took the voices all the way through seven books and if you sit and listen to them all back to back, the tones and nuances for each separate character flows like a river from start to finish.
Great series, you must start at the beginning, and if you love cowboys, bad boy billionaires and cocky, confident sexy men that can't keep their hands off each other... this is a must for you.
