Deputy US Marshal Miro Jones finally has everything he ever wanted. He's head-over-heels in love and married to the man of his dreams, his partner Ian Doyle, he's doing well at work, and all his friends are in good places as well. Things are all tied up nicely...until they're not.
Change has never been easy for Miro, and when situations at work force the team he's come to depend on to break apart, and worst of all, his and Ian's individual strengths put them on two separate paths, he's pretty certain everything just went up in smoke.
But before he can even worry about the future, his past comes for a visit, shaking his world up even more. It's hard to tell what road he should truly be on, but as he learns some paths are forged and others are discovered, it might be that where he's going is the right course after all. If he can navigate all the twists and turns, he and Ian might just get their happily ever after.

Tams gives this one 5 Stars because Audible won't let me give it 10!
I have to say I was worried when I read the synopsis for this one. Miro has been through SO much, I just wanted to him to have five solid minutes of happiness and peace. The way things roll out in the story though, I shouldn't have been worried. It's an action packed, non stop roller coaster that twists and turns and hurls you sideways then drops you on your ass. But it's so damn good!!! The book literally hits the ground running and it doesn't stop until the very end. I was beyond engrossed with this story, I was listening in the car via my Zune which I don't normally do.
After listening to the entire book, the path Calmes put these characters on made perfect sense. I mean, seriously, if you know Ian and Miro you know that life is never going to be home by five, dinner at the table with an aged red wine, feeding each other strawberries and making love by candlelight. With these two it's more like spaghetti that doesn't drip it's so thick at damn near midnight after dropping a sociopath of at the nuthouse. Followed up with hot, rough, sweaty sex in the pantry before falling into bed exhausted and sticky then waking up with thoughts of beating the shit out of the ringing cell phone with a very big gun.
Tristan James, goddamn I love this man. There is nothing he can't do with his voice. What I love is that each and every book in this story flows seemlesly with each and every character clearly conveyed with the same tones, nuances and vocal ticks from one book to the next. I could probably spend a weekend listening to this series back to back and be perfectly content.
If you like stories with two strong willed gentleman that can't get enough of each other and like to chase crazy people into burning buildings or run toward a spray of bullets instead of away from them. You'll love this one! You have to start with book 1 though, they must be read or listened to in order.
