Some secrets are too heavy to hold on to forever.
For Ethan, pretending has become second nature. After all, he’s spent the last decade pretending to be straight, pretending to be happy, and pretending he isn’t desperately in love with his best friend. But in a single moment of raw honesty, all those lies come crashing down around him and he’s left wondering what to do next.
When Jase learns his best friend is going through a breakup, his first instinct is to come to Ethan’s rescue, and he knows just the thing to help. The cabin where they spent summers as kids is sitting vacant, and a week there is the perfect remedy to start healing a broken heart.
In the seclusion of the mountains, long-buried fears and emotions take their friendship into unexplored territory that will either bring them closer together… or tear everything apart.

Jace and Ethan have been friends since childhood. They spent summers at Jaces' uncles lake house. So when Ethan and his longtime girlfriend broke up Jace took him to the one place they considered sanctuary to help Ethan come to terms with his breakup. Little did Jace know his place in the breakup.
Ethan was terrified that if Jace found out he was gay he would lose him. He tells him he is gay but not the full secret. Jace takes the news better than expected and they explore hidden feelings, but soon they have to go back to reality. Will their new relationship or friendship stay? While at the uncles cabin it was like living a fantasy but back home they had to face reality.
This was a short but sweet love story. I adore friends to lovers and will even call it gay for you since mother man had acted on any other attractions.
Their are some good characters in this book. Of course I adored both Jace and Ethan my other favorites were all the women, from waitress to ex’s and coworker Mina. The story line is a sweet friends to lovers and a touch of comfort. If your looking for something sweet with just a tiny touch of heat this is for you!
Cate discovered her love for books of all kinds early on, but romance is where her heart truly lies. She is addicted to the happily ever afters and the journey the characters take to get there. Currently residing in White Rock, B.C, Cate loves living just a stone's throw from the ocean. When she's not writing, she can be found consuming coffee at an alarming rate while wrangling her children, her husband, and their two cats.
Thank you for the review. I have my eye on it.
