Celebrating the end-of-year holidays doesn't always mean sleighs, snow, and snuggling to ward off the cold. How about making merry when it's just as warm (or hot) outside as inside romantic hearts? Twinkle lights in palm trees, unity cups on the sideboard, bonfires in the backyard, eggnog by the pool, and no chimneys to be found... just the warmest wishes of the holidays bringing lovers together around the world.
A huge part of the world celebrates end-of-the-year holidays that aren't anything like Bing Crosby's "White Christmas." In the southern hemisphere, it's not even winter!
Holiday reading fun! More than 400,000 words of romantic fiction in 31 stories that would sell individually for a total of $89.69.

Alex’s traditional family Christmas Compromise means spending the holiday at a second-rate theme park, Poseidon’s Planet, but Alex doesn’t mind. He enjoys the rides and the company of his family, and it’s a good break from his going-nowhere existence back in Indiana. Then he meets a certain sexy employee in a pirate costume, and Alex’s vacation gets even better. But thrill rides last only a short time, and sooner or later everyone has to return to real life. Alex long ago gave up on marrying a handsome prince—will he have to give up on his pirate as well?

Every year Alex's family has a family Christmas Compromise vacation where they all get together and spend a week together. They stay in time shares, economy motels, eat fast food and visit second rate amusement parks. Alex likes Poseidon's Planet and this year likes it even more when he meets a pirate, Rory and they it it off Immediately. Maybe fairy tales do come true. I loved all of the characters even Alex's family. They have the perfect dynamics, even the tiny squabbles that make them seem so real. Te story line is so fun, and sweet.

Kim Fielding lives in California and travels as often as she can manage. A professor by day, at night she rushes into a phone booth to change into her author costume (which involves comfy clothes instead of Spandex and is, sadly, lacking a cape). Her superpowers include the ability to write nearly anywhere, often while simultaneously doling out homework assistance to her children. Her favorite word to describe herself is "eclectic" and she finally got that fourth tattoo.
