For Ward “King” Kingston the role of protector, forged by fire and tragedy, is one he takes seriously. When King is asked to safeguard the son of a four-star general and friend, he is pulled back into the world of government black ops on a mission that raises painful memories from his past. The moment King meets Leo, amid the chaos of a lockdown at a secret black site, it’s clear he’s never faced a challenge like this—one that will test his unwavering sense of control.
Leopold de Loughrey is a misunderstood genius whose anxiety and insecurities are sent into overdrive when he is forcefully recruited to work on a top-secret project. Terrified of what his role as "invaluable asset" means, Leo’s stress leads to disappearances, arguments, and blowups that threaten the project and Leo’s future. King’s arrival is a calm in the storm for Leo and his frenetic thoughts.
King and Leo couldn’t be more different, yet as they navigate the dangers of a secret multi-agency operation and face unknown threats, their differences could be what saves them. Neither man believes a happily ever after is in the cards, but their hearts might just prove them wrong… if they can survive a deadly betrayal.

A fast-paced
and sexy conclusion to the Four Kings series. I think you can read in any order
but it would give maximum effect by reading in order.
King is battling
some demons and feels he is unworthy of love and no man will ever be able to love
him and all his baggage. He is content
to have his family and an occasional hookup. But as each of is brothers find
someone, deep down he longs for a man of his own. Then he meets young Leo, a
quirky genius, a science nerd.
Leo has been
taken in by the government to create a code that is a secret weapon. Leo is
unsure about creating such code and drags his feet. His dad, the general gets
worried about his son’s safety and hires King to protect him.
The characters are amazing. I love how quirky Leo is. I laughed so many times especially
during the action at the end when Leo comes through and saves the day. I was on
pins and needles with worry and then, bam! I never figured humor could work in
such a point of the story, but it did.
I loved this
series and am looking forward to Wild Cards to get Joker and Jack’s
stories. I would also like to see Ryden. If you like
action, security men, age gap, ex-military, bodyguards, some hot-man-love and all-over good suspense this is for you.
