Winter Cloud is a paramedic by day and a horse rescuer by night. Her past is a secret that may come back to haunt her. Even though she is quiet and stays to herself, her friends notice when she disappears along with her beloved horses. Also, to their surprise, they find a threat written in blood. The race is on to find her.
Luke Owens is a retired Navy seal. He took over the family ranch once his dad died. He did everything he could to change the hell the ranch once was to a haven. A haven for his team as they retire and a haven for abused horses. He never counted on a quiet woman bringing her horses to him and then getting stranded by a winter storm. Stuck in a house with this gorgeous woman, he can’t help but fall for her. He can sense Winter is in trouble, but he has to get her to trust him before it’s too late.
Can Winter let go and trust Luke before her past catches up to her or will she flee into the cold and dangerous night?

This is book four in the Seasons of Love series. You don’t really have to read in order but it does help as characters recur in each book. It just makes a bit more sense when you’ve read the others.
Winter is a paramedic in Louisiana. She lives on the ranch her mother left her and takes in rescue horses. They are her life. Then she finds her horses and life threatened. She finds a ranch in Colorado, loads her horses and runs. She only planned to drop off the horses for safety then return home but found herself caught up in a snow storm without being able to leave. How bad could it be staying with a sexy cowboy that loves horses as much as she does?
As in the last book the story is actually good. The Characters are also interesting both new and the ones that show up from the other book which brings me to the one fault I had.
A small touch of believability. Winter can’t leave because the roads are closed. No getting in or out and another storm on the way… yet Luke has team members arrive…two different times. A threat arrives ( we knew this would have to happen though for conflict… who says the threat wasn’t already there… but then Luke’s brother (Winter’s friend and his team also arrive). Yes, I know this is fiction but it just took some of the realism from me. Having said this, I still enjoyed the story. I liked the suspense and romance and loved the end so all in all a great happy romance. And yeah I’m a sucker for sexy Cowboys and hot bodyguards.
