Young Myla and Lincoln Kick Ass and Take Names in This Prequel Novella for REAPER GAMES!
A part-demon girl fights Lady Reaper
Myla Lewis is a sixteen-year-old part-demon girl who fights evil souls in Purgatory’s Arena… and she’s always looking out for a good battle against evil. Enter Lady Reaper, the famous ghoulette who wields both a scythe and nefarious intentions. Myla discovers Lady Reaper will soon visit the Demon Woods ‘ride’ at Purgatory’s Annual Lust Festival. Time to visit the fest, kick ass and take names, right? Wrong. Lady Reaper has other plans for Myla and her bestie, Cissy…A part-angel prince faces the Grim Reaper
Lincoln is a seventeen-year-old part-angel prince who protects humans from the denizens of Hell. On a routine trip to Earth, Lincoln uncovers clues that his best friend, Walker, might be allied to an evil ghoul named the Grim Reaper. Things go downhill from there…***A 20,000-word novella***
Publisher Note: Originally, LADY REAPER was a full novel. However, the author fell ill with COVID and gave us this prequel novella instead. We have since locked Ms. Bauer into the basement with a charger cord, MacBook Pro and carton of Theraflu. Therefore, the full and epic conclusion of this story will definitely be delivered in the next release, REAPER GAMES.

Where are you from, and where do you call home?
I am originally from Buffalo New York. I’ve lived for the last fifteen years in the Boston area. Boston’s now my home, but Buffalo always has a place in my heart.
What inspired you to start writing?
My Aunt Sandy was an author and she inspired me to write. Also, I had a compulsion to tell stories. The nuns had to set up time for me at the end of the school day to tell my stories or I’d just stand up in class at random times and start reciting them.
How long have you been writing?
I’ve been publishing two-plus books a year since 2013.
What advice would you give a new writer just starting out?
The stories in your heart can only be brought to life by you. Please bring them into the world!
Do you ever suffer from writer’s block? If so, what do you do about it?
I had writer’s block before I started setting up pre-order dates on Amazon. Now, if I miss a deadline, I go into Amazon jail (no preorders, lower rankings etc etc). Amazing how writer’s block ends when there’s Amazon jail to consider!
What Author’s in the genre do you read?
I read a lot of different stuff. I’ll dive into firefighter books until I feel like I understand that world. Then, I’ll go into orc fantasy novels. There are a few genres that I’ll always pick up, like were-bears. I am a goldilocks!
What comes first, the plot or characters?
I’ll know some basic stuff, like the heroine will fall in love with someone and become a queen. But the story really takes off when the characters are so fleshed out that they are interacting on the page using their own internal logic.
Are you working on anything at the present you would like to tell us about?
I’m really happy with the direction on Lady Reaper. It’s turned into a book about friendships—Myla with Cissy and Lincoln with Walker—and how secrets can build or destroy relationships. Regina Reaper and Grim Reaper are the anti-Cissy and Walker. It takes time and patience for the right direction to come out, though.
Describe the perfect writing space.
STARBUCKS! Yum.
Do you do research for your books? If so, what does that entail?
I create inspiration boards for all key characters and places. I used to store them all on Pinterest but now I pull them from stock art so I can share them in the books with my readers.
How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?
I’ve written forty-five books and counting! I still love my first Angelbound book, though. Is anything better than the first time you fall in love?
Do you hear from your readers much? What do they say?
I love hearing from readers! The ones I cherish are when they tell me that they lock themselves in their room and read my books—and how that’s the best part of their day. One reader said she went into a coma and her family played my Angelbound audiobook to her while she was out of it… and she did recover. That kind of feedback makes my life worthwhile!
Christina Bauer thinks that fantasy books are like bacon: they just make life better. All of which is why she writes romance novels that feature demons, dragons, wizards, witches, elves, elementals, and a bunch of random stuff that she brainstorms while riding the Boston T. Oh, and she includes lots of humor and kick-ass chicks, too.
Christina graduated from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School with BA’s in English along with Television, Radio, and Film Production. She lives in Newton, MA with her husband, son, and semi-insane golden retriever, Ruby.
