Best friends on social media, Allysa and Morgan share a love of three things: thriller novels, true crime, and keeping secrets from each other.
As soon as Allysa asks Morgan to be her plus one at a funeral, Morgan jumps on the first available flight. Burying the dead might unearth the truth about what happened to Allysa’s brother twenty years earlier. She’s never believed he simply left town without saying goodbye.
Once they learn he’s the last known victim of a serial killer, Allysa and Morgan decide to do what the police couldn’t – bring him to justice.
When the hunters become the hunted, only one question remains – Do you know your friend well enough to save her life?
Cat gives this book 5 Meows...
This is not a romance and has no sex, however it is a Psychological Thriller and is pretty graphic and gruesome.
Trigger warnings could be mentions of rape and physical and mental abuse, mental illness and lots of on- page violence.
If these things don’t bother you and/or you are a fan of Phsycological thrillers… you will love this one!
Morgan is a thriller author. She does lots of research and her books are very realistic. Her and Alysa met through bookstagram and became best buddies.
Alysa goes home to attend her stepmother’s memorial but that’s just a ruse. She really is trying to find out where her brother disappeared to so many years ago because she has a gut feeling he’s not alive.
Both women are hiding deep dark secrets. Will they remain friends if they survive this quest?
Holy cow was this book a roller coaster rider. It’s in three different POVs, both women and the serial killer. Just when you think something is obvious another twist, reveal or murder. I loved having two strong female leads.
The characters? Well, they were unique, but I can tell you they all were as twisted as the story.
The plot was like two in one at least. You have the serial killer cold case, Alysa and who is she really? And Morgan and Alysa’s friendship. Mysteries that unravel and it’s fast paced action and so Intriguing you don’t want to put it down.
I’d definitely read more!
