Cat's Reviews from this Anthology...
Candy Kisses is a great Anthology with a great diversity of authors. Some old Favorites of mine and some new ones. The stories are sweet with a little heat.
With such short stories they are straight to the point.
The characters are interesting, stories intriguing. What I liked most was you could read a story in an hour or so when you wanted to just kill a little time. Oh, and fun Valentine reads just in time for the Holiday.
Here are some individual reviews. A couple have trigger warnings I will place in that review. But it's well formatted with chapters, about stories, content warnings, about authors...all clickable so you can read about each story first to see if it interests you. You can read by length, author, in order or skip around by your mood. I loved the clickable formatting as it gives lots of freedom with the book.
Silver (Fox) Linings by Anna Sparrows 5 meows.
This is a new to me author.
I loved the age gap. It's one of my favorite tropes.. and toss in friends to lovers and Dad's best friend and Silver fox....sweet with just enough heat and kinda slow burn.. An̈na you have a new fan.
Drunk Dialing by BA Tortuga 5 meows
I have never read a BA Tortuga book I didn't love.
Cowboys are a favorite theme toss in second chances...rodeo riders, ranchers some nail biting drama...swoonworthy.
Falling For 42 by Becca Seymore 4 meows
I have read some of this author and liked what I read..I need to go find more.
Brothers best friend, opposites attract, sport romance. Basketball. Small age gap like couple years but I love any any age gap and the not my usual type trope... I really liked it was the younger brother doing the setting up instead of younger one falling.
Wrong Place Right Time by Beck Grey 5 meows
A favorite. I think I've read most of theirs and listened to the audios...recommended!
Trigger warnings.
This one is set in 87 when homophobia was worse than now.
This one has Content warnings on homophobic language and behavior befitting that time. Also unacceptable behavior of coworkers and parent's
On chapter of bullying in a work environment. For all warnings read the warnings page first.I loved Danny and Mike. They both have some of the same issues being gay when it's not spoken of except Mike is out in a way but Danny trys to stay secret being he's the more effeminate looking and gets bullied because of that and he lives at home with a very homophobic dad.
I guess you could call this sports romance though neither mc plays but they meet at a hockey game and a few dates center around hockey and there is some play by play.
The story while low Angst has a bit of Angst or tension but is sweet and fun with lots of feels. I knew this would be good.
Last Mango in Palm Springs by Bix Barrow 5 meows
An Author I've read and loved but need to read the rest of her list.
There is a short content warning of mentions of high rates of mental health issues and su!c!de among veterinarians.
Low Angst, Wrong number( a new favorite trope for me), drag queens, cute pets,
Oh gosh I loved this one. But a large age gap is one of my favorite tropes and I like first times too.
The main characters are so interesting and I loved how so much of the story was long distance and text.
I highly recommend it.
Sixteen or Ninety-one by B.L. Maxwell 5 meows
Another favorite Author and story.
It's a bit shorter but very well done. I loved both characters and the setting.
Tropes speed dating, insta lust/love
My Eel-Lectric Valentine by CD Rachel 3 meows
New to me but doesn't this just sound fun? And it was loads of fun. However it is from a world called Maritime Monster Institute and I've never read any. I did find the premise of maritime shifters quite intriguing.
A Crush on Coach by D.K. Sutton 5 meows
I have read some of hers. I'll be looking for more.
Small Town romance, age gap, dad's best friend and second chance..
It does have a content warning but it's the 20 year age gap.
Ok I absolutely loved this and if I was picking favorites from this collection this would be on the list.
I absolutely loved Charlie,Brad, and all the side characters. There's a touch of humor which I love. I've already mentioned the tropes...all favorites of mine. I hope you read and love this one as much as I did.
He's Perfection by David Gray 4 Meows
There is a content warning. Cozy novella with gay themes intended for adult readers.
Tropes: opposites attract, new start in new state.
This was really cute. I loved the characters but the unique storyline was what made this one. It takes opposites to a whole new level,
Wrong Number Right Heart by E.M. Demming 4 meows
Another favorite Author.
This is a sweet story with the wrong number trope. I really related to Sam since I too have seizures. The story is so cute and it has a cute service dog.
