(books of Sinnis, book 2) & Ishtar Anomaly (books of sinnis, book 3).
Interview, Review and Giveaway.
Nathalia Lovejoy should be dead, she can remember committing
suicide, but she wakes up in a ancient tomb. Her voice destroyed, she must rely
on a new source for her magical ability, telepathy, in order to communicate
with her savior. Nathalia has a real distaste for men. Lucky for her, Eiran
Kafziel is not a man. He is a demigod, a halfbreed, unlike anything she has
ever known. He found her in the moment of her death, repaired her body, gave
her his holy blood, forever changing her into a Sinnis. She must come to terms
with the fact that she is attracted to him, even loves him.
Along the way she discovers a whole world of mythical creatures living among humans. She battles her own hunger for violence and releases a demon from his 500 year prison. Can she become the weapon against that newly freed evil and save the world from his plans, or is she better suited to be his dark queen? *amazon.com*

Although this is the 2nd
book in the series, it is easily a stand alone story as well. This is definitely an action packed, sexy
little story. Nathalia Lovejoy is a kick
ass heroine and the story, as well as the majority, of the book focus on
her. There are plenty of other
characters and a truly intriguing storyline to keep you turning these pages.
Gibson draws you into her world with every word, the world she has created for
her Nephilim, the Sinnis and the Daughters is anciently evolved.
What grabbed me about
this book was the relationship between the Sinnis (Soul Mates) and the fact
that they can satisfy each other without the need for any other type of
sustenance. Also that the energy derived
from sex (love and the emotions connected to the act itself) are more powerful
and sustaining than blood.
This book really does
have a little bit of everything squeezed into 200 something pages! Sex, Romance, Mythology, Nephilim, Zombies
and Vampires. Truly something for
everyone!! I give this book 4/5 but,
that’s just my two cents!
Camilla Lovejoy is barren because her natural healing ability
cannot differentiate between a desired pregnancy and a unwanted parasite, but
wants children desperately. Nanae is the Nephilim with healing talents that
could enable Camilla to carry a child to term, but Nephilim cannot procreate.
They turn to a friend and sometimes lover of the Daughters of Women, Israel.
Izzy, as his friends call him, is happy to aid Camilla achieve her dream of
motherhood. He loves Camilla but has always felt there was something missing in
the traditional two person relationship. Now with Nanae in the mix he may have
found the perfect solution. Can Nanae share his Sinnis with another man? Can
Camilla handle her lovers loving each other? Will Israel survive the appetites
of both? Will the hunger that Nanae battles constantly win and force him to
destroy everything that he has come to love and need?
This is an extremely graphic novel with sexual situations for open minded adults, with not only m/f/m scenes but also m/m/f with a sprinkle of BDSM between two superhuman men and a pregnant petite. *amazon.com*

The third installment
in books of Sinnis, again, it could stand alone as well. I loved this book, even more so than book 2
and was up till 3AM reading it, I could NOT put it down!
All your favorite
characters from the previous books are back including Nathalia and Maeve; this
book focus’s primarily on Camilla, Nanae and Izzy.. Camilla’s strong desire to
conceive and the two men that are going to help her fulfill that need. I absolutely loved reading the relationship
between these three people evolve and grow; Gibson expertly captured the
insecurities, secrets, desires and emotions of this trio. The sex is off the charts in this book but,
as with everything else, it is written and conveyed quite well. Erotica done right, Gibson not only delivers
us some Oh My God, Hot, Sexy, Steamy scenes; she also shows the love and
nurturing these three share bringing the story full circle.
In the end will
Camilla be able to carry their child to term or will the “Beast” that resides
within Nanae be the end of them all.
5/5 MUST READ! But, that’s just my two cents.
Natalie Gibson was kind enough to answer some questions for me, here is my Interview with this diverse Author (giveaway to follow).
*Tell me a bit about yourself
-----Oddly, I found this your most difficult question. I spend all my time thinking about my characters, who they are and what hell I'm going to put them through. In my reality time, I'm just like you. I get up and go to a regular 9 to 5 in the mortgage industry. I cook. I clean. I read. I read for my own amusement. I read to my 4 year old daughter. I read about the human condition and the state of our world. I write. I write a lot, all the time, every day. When I'm not writing, I'm thinking and planning what I am going to write. I drink coffee with my husband and talk politics and religion. He's the only person I will talk with about those two subjects. I don't watch TV because I will NOT expose myself and my kiddo to commercials, though I do have an impressive DVD collection and I use the crap out of some Netflix. I love books. Sounds dumb to even say because what writer hates books, but I am especially fond of paperbacks. They seem so pedestrian, so accessible, power to the masses, and all that. I have hauled my collection around, refusing to part with even one when I move. I often say that I married my husband, Eric, in part because of the impressive size of his p...p...paperback collection. My virtual library now rivals my physical one, thanks to my kindle. I think it is quite possibly the greatest invention ever. I love that it uses almost no power and the epaper is so easy on the eyes. But most of all it is empowering. I never again have to worry about what the bookstore clerk will think of my purchases or what my coworkers will think about the cover of the book I read at lunch that has a particularly swarthy gentleman on the front.
*Where were you born and where do you call home?
-----I was born in Andrews, a little town in the panhandle of Texas and raised on a pine tree farm outside an even smaller town in North East Texas called Tatum. I have always had a slight obsession with family land. Everything is just a degree more right with me on family land. It doesn't make any sense because it wasn't even ours more than three generations ago, but that's just how it is. The idea of it being parceled off to strangers makes me a bit crazy and I long for the day it is in my name and I alone make decisions about it. I live in Tyler, TX currently because that is where my daughter can attend a wonderful Montessori school.
*What was your inspiration for your Sinnis Series?
-----Ishtar Bound is my first book. I wrote it four years ago. It is so different than I originally planned it that it is hard to describe its journey. It started out as a contemporary romance about my husband and I (write what you know, right?). Then I gave Maeve a magical ability, put her in a coven, made her the mother of humanity's savior and it just went further and further. Pretty early on I had the plan for Transit of Ishtar. It went through less of an evolution than the first one. I outlined it and meticulously planned it. Then the basis was set for the whole series. I could write it forever with new Guardians, with unique abilities and back stories, finding their Sinnis. The overall story arch of saving the world from the Shinar can be extended indefinitely and I plan to write between 2 and 5 more in the series.
*For those who are unfamiliar with your novels, how would you introduce them?
-----Each one is different and I try to make them stand alone. Don't think that because you didn't enjoy one, you won't find another that becomes an absolute favorite. Read each blurb and pick the one that speaks to you. Here is something I sometimes use to introduce them.
-----The Sinnis Series is my first attempt to combine the elements I enjoy in a good read: action, adventure, magic, mystery, romance and racy sex. They are all for mature readers only. Please do not purchase or read if you are under 18 years of age. The Daughters of Women is a secret order of magical adepts, each with abilities granted to them from their mother's bloodlines. Some will be, and some will give birth to Sinnis, a generation bound to an ancient race of men they call Guardians, the Nephilim. They are half men, half gods with mysterious abilities of their own. Their complex mental camouflage keeps them out of the thoughts of others, memory of their faces and names fading the moment they leave.
*Your storyline is unique. What research did you do to come up with the finished story? Or was it a fantastical idea?
-----It is all a creation of my imagination but each aspect took a lot of research. Some items I had to research are: tantric sex, sex magic, power storage such as batteries and capacitors, Nephilim, the old testament accounts of angels and giants, Sumer and the Sumerian language, cuneiform, the Jewish tale of Lilith, origins of werewolf, vampire, and even zombie legends (yes, even zombies are an ancient idea), Wicca and the wheel of time, midwinter celebrations, Queen Anne and Henry VII, herbs, dream interpretation...The list goes on. I like to read, as I have mentioned, so having a subject chosen for me because of research is actually quite enjoyable for me.
*What are the Pros and Cons to being an indie author?
-----The biggest pro has to be having people reading my work, talking about my choices, falling in love with my characters. I have the freedom to write what I want, what I like to read, without any worry if the publishing houses think it will find a market. I love reading reviews and get stupid happy when I watch my book sales tick up even by only one.
-----The biggest con has to be that the market is stacked against us. The publishing houses have deals with the big suppliers. I have to do all my own marketing. I search for people willing to read my book and beg for reviews.
*Whom in your life would you say has influenced you the most?
----Without hesitation I would say my husband, Eric. He is so well read and expresses himself easily. He has never once doubted that I would be a smash success. He is funny and sexy, thoughtful and good. He is also a shameless free-thinker. He encourages me and when I have writer's block he continues to show me surprise favorite book after another from his collection. Books never fail to inspire me to write.
*Who is your favorite author?
-----That is only slightly easier than if you had asked for my top ten books. I have about 30 in my top ten book slots just like I have about a dozen favorite authors. I enjoy tons of books I don't like to admit. I despise others that are so popular I want to murder someone. I can admit that I got into reading again for fun after college (reading for other than credit) with a little series called the Dark Series by Christine Feehan. You might have heard of it. I have not read anything by Anya Bast that I have not loved. Jean Auel's Earth Children was a huge find for me. Mary Stewart created a masterpiece in the Merlin trilogy with The Crystal Cave, The Hollow Hills and The Last Enchantment. Harry Harrison, Terry Pratchett, Tim Powers, Lilith Saintcrow, Nalini Singh, to name a few fiction writers. Nonfiction is harder, but I think that Christopher Hitchens was a genius, Sam Harris gets better with every book, and Merlin Stone's When God was a Woman is life changing.
*What has been the most interesting comment or review about your books?
-----I am going to stray from the question a bit now. What I find fascinating is which of the four currently published books of Sinnis people like the best. To be honest, I was really worried about Ishtar Anomaly. It is the third book and it is a menage romance. That could be a deal breaker for a lot of people, but it has gotten the best ratings and reviews of any of them. People seem to love the jealousy free love triangle of Nanae, Izzy and Camilla. Some people think Ishtar Bound is genius and some like it least. I love to look at someone who has rated all four of my books and see their favorites. Personally, I like Transit of Ishtar best, followed closely by Ishtar Anomaly and Ishtar Rising, with Ishtar Bound, book 1, trailing pretty far behind. My husband liked Transit of Ishtar best also, but puts Ishtar Bound as a close second, with Ishtar Anomaly and Ishtar Rising being his least enjoyed. I have seen every order and combination in my readers and I find that really interesting.
*What are you reading right now?
-----I read up to 5 books at once. I know. Yes, I am that kind of person. I have several going at once so that I have options according to my mood. Currently I am reading:
*Viridis – A Steampunk Romance by Calista Taylor
*Beezus and Ramona by Beverly Cleary
*Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder (I am raising Gwendolyn to be just like me – she switches between #2 and 3 according to HER mood each night)
*The Dom of My Dreams: A BDSM Novel by M.F. Sinclair
*The Technology of Orgasm: “Hysteria”, the Vibrator, and Women's Sexual Satisfaction... by Rachel Maines
*Tell us the latest news
-----This is the question I have been waiting for. I am stoked to tell you that tomorrow, August 13th, I will have a new ebook available on amazon. I am excited and nervous because it is SO different than the Sinnis Series. As it is not up yet, I don't have a link but here is the blurb:
Hateful Burden, book 1 in the Carrier trilogy, is a gaslight era horror novel by Natalie Gibson, author of the books of Sinnis. It is a psychological thriller where friends and foes are not always who they seem. In this dark urban fantasy, paranormal powers are bred and collected.
Lady Ramillia Winmoore, daughter of the Earl of Brooksberry, has suffered from gaps in her memory for her whole life. Because this blessed blackness takes her whenever she is threatened, she never knew pain, or even discomfort, until the day she awoke strapped to an examining table in West Freeman Asylum for Lunatics. Imprisoned for the gruesome murder of her parents and having lost ten months to the darkness, she endures years of tortuous treatments in that grimy hidden cell. Her benefactor and betrothed, Sir Julian Lawrence, helps her gain her freedom but at what cost? Ramillia encounters more horrors in his household than she ever did in the asylum and is introduced into a society of blood-thirsty cruel immortals. She is told she too is the carrier of a gene that will allow her to live forever and they, the Incola, can teach her how, if only she will join them, accept their way of life, and serve as their prized breeding mare. Ramillia must break free of a prison she cannot see, kill an enemy that cannot die, and find a daughter she does not remember birthing, all with the help of an ally she does not know. Can she trust Sally? Is the mysterious and frightening woman truly trying to save her or is she saving Ramillia for herself?
-----I am also currently writing book 5 of Sinnis, Veil of Ishtar, and expect to have it out by the end of this year. It follows Christy Adams, the girl from Ishtar Anomaly who has the unique gift of shield making, as she meets her Nephilim and deals with the damage her boyfriend history has done to her decision making ability.

First off, thanks so much for this giveaway!! I am so intrigued!! As for my favorite naughty book...I've really just recently "introduced" myself to erotica...don't have one that stands out....YET!
ReplyDeleteI loved this review almost as much as i loved getting to poke around in Mrs. Gibson's vivid imagination. Im current reading the fourth book in the series, and trying to restrain myself from finishing it too soon as book five is not yet released. These books are beautifully written and have kept me engaged with every turn of the page. The characters i feel i know, and even adore, and being a gal from Texas, i can almost feel the nurturing warmth of my hometown's light shining down on me. My utmost thanks to Mrs. Gibson for sharing her imaginative world with us!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tammy! I enjoyed reading these reviews myself. It was a nice boost to my ego on a Sunday before being forced back into the reality of 9 to 5 employment. Hateful Burden is now available for anyone interested. Here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/Hateful-Burden-Carrier-Trilogy-ebook/dp/B008WNRUG4
