Orphaned at seventeen, Evan O’Fion has a choice: let her loss define her or rise above it and become more than she ever believed she was capable of. The problem? Giving in to the darkness that calls her is just too easy. Add in to the mix the ability to control the elements and travel across space and time, and Evan is pretty sure she’s going to lose it completely. Giving in would be a relief, but Evan is beginning to realize that there are people counting on her and that the mystery of her past is the key to it all.
As Evan struggles to put her party-girl ways behind her, she must learn to control her new abilities and face the fact that everything she thought she knew about herself was a lie. On top of it all, she has to face a new town, new home, new school, and a sexy dangerous guy…or two.
Dealing has never been Evan’s strong suit. How she’s going to handle it all and come out alive, she has no idea, but she’s stronger than ever and she’s not going down without a fight.

~ Tell us more about you. Where were you born, and where do you call home?
I was born in New Hartford, NY on July 31st. If I had been born twenty-seven minutes later I would have been born in August and wouldn’t share a birthday with Harry Potter, which would have made my life that much less interesting. Currently, I live in Little Falls, NY with my fiance, Patrick, and our dog, Lenni, who is actively pursuing the title of most spoiled pet in existence.
~ For those not familiar with your story, give them some details.
What Evan Elemental boils down to is a coming of age story. If you were to strip away all of the supernatural elements, you would find a girl whose world has been turned upside down by the death of her parents. As the story progresses, she will discover how little she knew about the people she called mom and dad. As it is, there are a whole lot of supernatural hijinks, including elemental manipulation and travel across space and time. There might even be a few vampires, but you’ll just have to read to find out :)
~ What prompted the cover change?
A month or so ago I decided to pursue print copies of Evan Elemental. I decided that if I were to have them printed, I wanted a professionally designed cover instead of the one I made pretty much on my iPhone. While I liked the old cover, I felt it wasn’t high resolution enough and didn’t adequately represent the story I was trying to tell.
~ What is your writing process?
I don’t have a set process. Initially, I do most of my writing in my head. A lot of the Evan Elemental series has been written while I was in bed, in the shower, driving, etc. Once I feel like I have a clear outline of a scene or chapter, I sit down and just start typing. While I write, I like to have background noise either in the form of the TV or a playlist I’ve created.
~ What has been the most interesting comment or review about your book?
I did have a close friend tell me that she was disappointed by it because “nothing happened.” It was kind of shocking and funny to me that she would say that because I thought quite a lot happened, but it doesn’t upset me. I would consider it more a problem if everyone universally liked it.
~ Whom would you say has influenced you the most.
I don’t think I really took my writing seriously until I started taking creative writing classes while in college. I had one particular professor who definitely inspired me and taught me that I can always be better. His passion for writing and language has really stuck with me even years later.
~ What are you reading now?
Currently, I’m not reading anything. But that’s only because I’m holding out for Girl On Tour by Caisey Quinn and Sometimes It Lasts by Abbi Glines to come out on 8/27.
~ What's next for you? Sequel, new story??
I’m actively working on the sequel to Evan Elemental, tentatively titled Evan Evolved. I’m planning on having a total of four books in the series with Book Two coming out this November. Aside from EE, I’m working on a couple of other projects: one involving dragons and Celtic lore, the other a non-supernatural story about a twenty-something female drug dealer who gets caught up in a steamy romance with a homicide detective.
