Cassandra Clarke, fresh out of college and living on her own, isolates herself from the humiliation that rocked her world a year earlier.
Everything in her life is simple and easy until Logan West, the single father full of mystery and sex appeal, moves into the empty estate next door. A guy who easily attracts the attention of available women in town with one carefree smile. Cassandra is not looking for another heartbreak and stands her ground, but finds it impossible to stay away fro...m the charming stranger when his four-year-old son, Oliver, takes an interest in her childhood tree house.
It is through Oliver where Cassandra’s eyes begin to open to a side of Logan very few people know. The rough edges and arrogant front shed away, leaving the compassionate, yet broken side of him exposed, and finally opening the possibilities to a genuine friendship.
A friendship that is constantly shaken by the undeniable connection building between them.
With temptation arising every time they are near, Cassandra fights to remind herself exactly why Logan isn’t capable of loving her the way she deserves, or is he?
Inevitable is the start to a sexy and romantic series with a likeable heroine and a swoon worthy male lead! And holy f*cking Christ, what a cliffhanger!!
Cassie is head strong and self assured, she knows what she wants and she won't bend until she gets it. Logan is a slutt! But he's a damn good father as well. His cocky attitude and the fact that he oozes sex appeal has Cassie's head spinning. She's tempted, but she's resigned to have a relationship, she doesn't want just another notch on her bed post, this just makes Logan want her even more.
This isn't an insta love story, even if it is insta lust. Cassie and Logan build a strong foundation based on friendship first, I just loved that damn tree house. The ending threw me for a loop, talk about a nice surprise there. I would have liked a little more communication on Logan's part leading up to it, but I do like when an author surprises me. I cannot wait for book 2, Graham is an evil woman with that ending. I'll forgive her though because she delivered some damn steamy scenes between Cassie and Logan and I can't wait to see what else these two can get in to!
*One of my favorite excerpts from the book....
"A hotel? Really!" I hissed. "I'm a woman, not some piece of meat. I have no interest in going to some hotel, for some one-night stand with a man that cannot even talk about his own son without cringing. You can go around with your fancy cars and expensive suits but you have nothing I'm interested in!" With a sudden turn, I headed straight to my table, and collected my bag. As I walked past him to leave, I leaned in and whispered, "And by the way, I enjoyed your pool very much. It's a shame you'll never get me that wet!"
~ Tell us
about yourself. Where are you from, and where do you call home.
I was born
and raised in Defiance, Ohio located in northwest Ohio and at the age of 16
moved to Florida where my mother still resides. I moved back to Ohio after
graduating high school and have now found my home in Tipp City, Ohio with my
husband and 3 great kids.
~ For those
not familiar with your novel, Inevitable, give us some details.
Inevitable is a
contemporary romance about a slow burn relationship. Two people damaged by past lovers who through
Oliver, the male lead’s young son, find friendship and heartache on the road
leading to love.
~ What does
your writing process involve?
Playlist, movies, books, research. Research was
needed for my book 2 coming out next month as far as a few medical facts.
There’s always a little thing here or there I have to look up to confirm but
not much for this Inevitable. I like to get lost in my writing. I don’t do a
playlist but will try to work on that as I’ve seen readers enjoy it.
~ Favorite
character in your novel?
That’s hard but I’d have to say Logan. There’s so much
in his past that I’d love to go deeper into someday.
~ Best and
worst comments reviewers have left about your book.
The best is when they enjoy
both the story as well as my writing. This is my first book and I have a lot to
learn in when it comes to writing so it feels good to know that I’m off to a
good start.
The worse it
probably, and this has happened quite a few times, where I get a 2 star review
with a review saying how much they loved the book, couldn’t put it down,
connected with the character but because it had a cliffhanger they were upset
and gave it a bad score. I get it cliffhangers are no fun but if you loved a book
its unfortunate for the author receiving that low mark. It knocks your overall
rating down on Amazon and deters other readers who don’t read the review just
see the 2 stars.
~ Whom in
your life would you say have influenced you the most?
That’s a hard one to
answer. I’m not really sure if there was someone in my personal life. I think
more the strong women out there that raise their kids and still find time to
get glammed up and take time for what they love. With passion and hard work
anything is possible.
~ Who is
your favorite author?
Wow, that’s a tough one!! There are so many great authors
out there. I’ll go with one everyone loves, E.L. James. She’s one of many I
love especially because of how she started. She wrote what she wanted and owned
it. I’m also a huge fan of Samantha
Young and Colleen Hoover.
~ What book
are you reading now?
I just finished Fallen too far by Abbi Glines. I know I’m a little late on the Abbi train. It’s a good
book.
~ Details on a sequel?
Its sexy, full of angst
and will be in the conclusion of Logan and Cassandra’s story so expect at least
someone to get their happily ever after.
