Book 3 ~ Temptations of Desire
At the local LGBTQ center where Alex regularly volunteers, he meets Dal Sayer, an officer of the Milwaukee PD. Because he’s been rejected one too many times, Alex doesn’t trust the huge cop and the interest he shows in him, but once Dal sets his mind on something, he goes all out. Pushing aside his preconceived notions, Alex opens up just a little and soon caves.
From their first date—while dealing with his father’s failing health and his parents’ demands for him to settle down and have children—Dal never takes his eyes off his goal of making Alex his. But proving to Alex he isn’t like all the men who couldn’t see him for who he truly was and only wanted to hide him away is harder than he thought.

Tams gives this one 5/5 stars...
Alexander Noble is a fulltime chef that volunteers his skills at a local LGBTQ center as well. It’s while Alex is setting up for a dance at the center that he first meets one tall, dark and very handsome cop, Dal Sayers. Alex is wary of the large, brooding man at first, but settles when he learns Dal is a cop. It’s still just a little unsettling the way Dal looks at him, and Alex could swear Dal is flirting with him.
Dal is taken with Alex straight away, and sets his sights on wooing the beautiful chef. Dal is bi-sexual, so Alex’s androgynous look is very appealing to him. While Alex is uncertain of how Dal will react when he sees all of his personality, the man is persistent and romantic and quickly works his way into Alex’s heart. They share a lot and seem to fit together perfectly, their differences only drawing them closer.
They have to contend with Dal’s fathers opinions about Dal settling down with a woman and having a family and a haunting secret from Alex’s past. Determination and love will get you through a lot. And then Dal gets shot protecting his brother’s boyfriend, Chase, from his psychotic killer closeted ex boyfriend. Now Dal has to face the hard truth that he can’t be a cop anymore without full mobility of his arm, and Alex gets a job offer in another city. Will their love and determination get them through?
While there was a hint of darkness, danger and mystery with this story just like the others in the series, there was a lot of passion and romance as well. Opposites definitely attract, and that statement were never more true than with Dal and Alex. Dal is a larger than life, leather wearing, motorcycle riding cop. Alex is a breathtakingly beautiful, gender fluid man that is content in his own skin. Whether that skin is wrapped in jeans and a cashmere sweater, or a silk blouse and a skirt. He is truly a bi-sexual mans wet dream.
I loved the push and pull the two characters maintained throughout the story, the way Dal romanced Alex and accepted everything about him without hesitation. There was an obvious chemistry from the start that just drew me in and had me rooting for them the entire time. Wildly different physical characteristics described them, but they didn’t let that define them, that just made this book that much more appealing to me.
This is the third book in a series that should be read in order, the storyline runs parallel to the events and timeline in Desire’s Guardian, book 2 in the series. It’s romantic and passionate with a healthy dose of danger and suspense. Definitely a must read.
NOTE: I read this book in September of 2014 and while every book in this series just gets better and better, this one in particular is still my favorite of the series.
