Jeremy is a park ranger, that helps with the youth shelters and everyone seems to like him. He has a past that includes an ex-lover that he hasn't seen for 5 ears until one day he shows up on his doorstep injured. The past isn't through biting him in the butt when the new man he is interested in turns out to be a boy from his home-town that presumably committed suicide.
Qay has a lot of secrets and feels he doesn't deserve someone like Jeremy or a chance at any future.
There is lots of angst and drama in this book from Donny, Jeremey's ex being found dead, to Qay dealing with his addictions, and emotions. I love how the characters are so realistic. I love the secondary characters as well. There are a few intriguing ones. Rhoda adds some lightness to the story. My heart went out to Qay so many times but there were a few I wanted to shake him as well.
I will admit that I wish there had been a little more on the Donny murder thing as I felt there were several loose ends. Having said that the main story was the budding romance and struggles between Qay and Jeremy and that was spot on. I can't wait for more in this series.
