Happy Holidays and welcome to the TTC Books and more 12 Days of Giveaways Event!
I've teamed up with 12 amazing Authors to put together 12 days of fun that will include promos, spotlights, reviews, special Christmas guest posts and... giveaways! Each day starting today and going through December 23rd will spotlight a different Author, and each Author is offering up a giveaway on their day. You could win e-books, giftcards, swag and more. For day 4 of the event let's say hello to Susan Mac Nicol. I just loved her sexy little Christmas story, Out for the Holidays.
Being in love is tough enough at eighteen, but being in love and outed to your dad is a disaster that will take more than a little holiday magic to fix.

All Samuel wants for his birthday slash Christmas this year is for his boyfriend Lucas to openly love him. Having recently lost his mother, Lucas doesn’t want his first Christmas after her death with his father to be marred with telling him the truth about his sexuality. But Sam is tired of being Lucas’s secret and he wants to tell everyone the truth about what Lucas means to him, how much he loves him. After a pretty nasty fight Sam out’s Lucas not only to his father, but to his friends as well in a jealous, worded rampage. Now he faces his birthday and Christmas alone, without his lover, who is fit to be tied for being Outed for the Holiday. A short little Christmas time story about thinking before you speak. Sam doesn’t intend to hurt the man he loves, he just wants Lucas to be open and honest about their relationship. He doesn’t think about the consequences of his actions, and almost looses Lucas in the aftermath of his verbal diarrhea. I really liked that Mac Nichol was able to give a pretty decent history and current story for both these young men in so few pages. My only issue with the story was the attempt to include a bit of a paranormal aspect and how that played out. It didn’t quite mesh for me, but overall it was a fun story, perfect for the season! Guest Post with Author Susan Mac Nicol
So
– what’s your idea Christmas gift? I confess I was looking through a list of
the most wanted gift ideas and I was a little taken aback. It’s everything from
expensive tequila, to virtual reality glasses, a lot of techno geek gifts like
Google Home and even a WonderWoof activity monitor for your pet. I must confess
I’m a tech-geek myself so anything like this would do for me.
Of
course, all I really want for Christmas are some Amazon Gift vouchers. I ask my
family every year for these because I buy a lot of books there, and other bits
and bobs as well. Yet every year, I get something else. The family don’t think
the provision of gift vouchers is a ‘proper’ gift even it’s what I want. Don’t
get me wrong, I’m not complaining. This year I got a gorgeous Bluetooth radio
for my car so I can play my Google and Amazon music library through my
speakers. I love my music so this was a combined Christmas and Birthday present
(the 28th December) from my lovely husband.
But
why ask me what I want and then when I tell you, you buy something else? Sigh.
Either way I’m grateful for what I get, even if it means I then spend my own
money on buying books the One-Click way, because I simply can’t resist a good
story. Yep, we all have the same problem no doubt. One-Click-Aholics indeed.
Hope
you get what you want for Christmas and enjoy a fun filled seasonal time with
the ones you love.

Susan Mac Nicol is a self confessed bookaholic, an avid watcher of videos of sexy pole dancing men, self confessed geek and nerd and in love with her Smartphone. This little treasure is called ‘the boyfriend’ by her long suffering husband, who says if it vibrated, there’d be no need for him. Susan hasn’t had the heart to tell him there’s an app for that…
She is never happier than when sitting in the confines of her living room/study/on a cold station platform scribbling down words and making two men fall in love. She is a romantic at heart and believes that everything happens (for the most part) for a reason. She likes to think of herself as a ‘half full’ kinda gal, although sometimes that philosophy is sorely tested.
Lover of walks in the forest, theatre productions, dabbling her toes in the cold North Sea and the vibrant city of London where you can experience all four seasons in a day , she is a hater of pantomime (so please don’t tar and feather her), duplicitous people, bigotry and self righteous idiots.
In an ideal world, Susan Mac Nicol would be Queen of England and banish all the bad people to the Never Never Lands of Wherever -Who Cares. As that’s never going to happen, she contents herself with writing her HEA stories and pretending, that just for a little while, good things happen to good people.

ReplyDeleteI found that a lot of people don't like gift cards because they think it makes them look lazy or that you only aid a gift card because you don't think they have enough money to buy you a gift. Both my daughters are grown so they only get stockings. I usually try to put unusual useful gifts in the stockings. Chapstick, fingernail polish, socks, candy, USB drive, sample sizes of deodorant, tissues, body spray, etc. Sometimes I add small gift cards. I know it seems cliche to say but my husbands health has been bad for a long time so any holiday he is still with us is a gift we try to appreciate. Hope you have Happy Holidays.
