Matthew’s attraction to Daniel grows day by day, feeling there’s something between them, just under the surface. But months go by, with Matthew afraid to tell Daniel he was falling in love with him. Because if he was wrong and Matthew was looking too deeply into it…he’d lose his best friend.
So instead Matthew longs for Daniel in silence, until an accident on set may leave Daniel permanently blind. With his friend hurt, scared and confused, his life possibly forever altered, Matthew never wavers from Daniel’s side, no matter how difficult it gets.
His dedication brings them closer than ever before, but is it possible to find happiness, and love, in the wake of a tragedy? Or has Matthew’s hesitation cost him that chance and he’ll lose Daniel to the darkness instead?

Tammy's 5 star review... Matthew and Daniel are best friends and co-stars on the hit TV show Darkness Falls. But somewhere along the way, Matthew started to feel something more for Daniel, something stronger. He broke off his long term relationship but still didn’t admit to his best friend that he was in love with him. Matthew worries not just about being rejected, but about losing the friendship as well.
When Daniel is injured in an explosion on the set, Matthew moves in with him to help him while he’s healing. Daniel is angry and confused over the possibility of being permanently blind, but Matthew is there to help him pick up the pieces. And then one night, everything changes. Best friends become lovers and learn that they have both been hiding their feelings for way too long.
What a fun read. Miller took the best friends to lovers angle and twisted it to fit her own story of longing and passion between these two men. I loved the mystery of how and why the accident happened. How it brings the two men closer together. And the intrigue, will Daniel get his sight back? And then the way Matthew was determined to feel exactly as Daniel was their first time together, and kept his eyes closed. It’s was just beautiful.
You have to grab this book! I will stay on my kindle permanently so I can read it again, and again...
Where are you from, and where do you call home?
I’m from a suburb just outside Chicago and I’ve lived there my whole life. But if you asked me where I WISH I was living, it would be in Vancouver, Canada. Still hoping to retire there!
What inspired you to start writing?
The overwhelming need to get the stories I kept coming up with in my head down on paper, because I wanted to share them with others.
How long have you been writing?
Wow, I started writing little stories when I was just a kid. I was a huge fan of The Hardy Boys and came up with my own pair of teenage detective brothers that I wrote stories about. Took all sorts of creative writing classes in school as I got older. Then that morphed into writing my first fanfiction stories in the late 1990’s.
In 2008, my good friend encouraged me to start writing professionally. The first book I ever submitted to a major gay romance publisher was picked up on my first try and I’ve been writing professionally ever since!
What comes first, the plot or characters?
It’s always the plot with me. I come up with the slightest germ of an idea and from there I figure out if I can build an entire book around it. If I decide I can, only then do I start forming the characters. Which is definitely a fun part! And I always end up obsessing about names. LOL!
Are you working on anything at the present you would like to tell us about?
I’m in the early stages of outlining a Christmas story for Partners: Book 2, with Colin and Liam from my recent new release, Stronger Together.
Describe the perfect writing space.
An airy room with big windows for lots of light. Bookshelves all around. A bay window with a bench where I can stretch out with cushions and pillows and look out on mountains or a lake.
How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?
I’ve written 14 books. And my favorite? That’s like trying to choose a favorite child! LOL! But if I had to, I’d go with Burnin’ for You. I put in a lot of hands-on research for that one and I adore my fireman Lucas and my paramedic Evan.
Do you hear from your readers much? What do they say?
I do hear from my readers and it never fails to make me smile each and every time. Everyone who tells me that they connected with my characters in some way or are impressed by how realistic my action sequences are or how I portray love between two men—it means the world to me.
Jamie has been writing fiction since childhood and decided to take the plunge and go pro in 2008, finding to her amazement that people truly enjoyed her love stories. She’s a romantic at heart, and her tales reflect the desire we all have to find “the one,” persevering through trials and heartache for that happy ending.
Jamie has a degree in fine arts and has spent the last twenty-five years working as a graphic designer, though she’d much rather be writing. She was born in Chicago and still lives there today with her husband and their furry, four-footed children, er… cats.
If Jamie’s not brainstorming story ideas, you can find her at a sci-fi convention, in front of a furnace doing glass blowing, or on a mat twisted into a yoga pose.
