“Ummm wow! Just wow!! Another 10 star book!! Johnny is just wow with Tahlia!” ★★★★★ Escape Reality Book Blog
Is this part of a series? Yes.
If so does it need read in order? Yes.
What did I think of the cover? Wow! These covers are hot! I’d like a calendar or poster with them.
Did it inspire me to look at blurb? Yes and no. I’m already into this series so it’s auto click for me. But, yes, I read the blurb, a few times.
Did the blurb entice me into reading the book? Again, yes and no. Since I’m already into this series I was intrigued in something that happened in previous book. But the blurb would have persuaded me.
What made me choose this book? It picks up with a continuing storyline from previous book.
Are there trigger warnings? Lots of violence, bombing, talk of past childhood trauma.
Who’s my favorite character? Tough one here, but I have to go with Fox even though it’s not his book. He’s just so funny.
What did I like best? I liked the entire story. All the suspense.
Was there something I didn’t like? No.
What would have made that better? Well, there was a lot of loose ends but usually are in this book as there is an ongoing story involving Rafe. I would have like to have seen how they “solved things finally”.
What made the book interesting? All the characters, a touch of humor (not as much as in some of these), the twists, the action, the romance, lots of good stuff.
Was there an HEA? At least a HFN for Johnny and Thalia the two main characters in this book.
How hot was the book? 4 purrs.
Who do I recommend this to? If you like protectors, action, suspense, mystery, bad boys, twists, hot sex and a good romance this is for you! But you have to start with book 1.
“Johnny!” she screamed. “What are you doing?”
“Tahlia, you know this guy?” the chief snapped, his gun aimed at me.
“Tahlia, we’re getting out of here. Come with me,” I ordered.
“Don’t move,” he snapped at her.
“I…what’s going on here?” she asked me.
I could see the panic rising in her eyes. I had to get her out now, or it would be too late.
“They’re accusing you of stealing the body, but you and I both know you didn’t do it.”
“Who are you?” the chief shouted. Thank God his finger wasn’t on the trigger, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t shoot me.
“Tahlia, I know you’re innocent, and you’re going to have a hell of a time proving it behind bars.”
“How did you—” She shook her head in confusion.
“I bugged your apartment,” I said, being as honest as possible with her. “I know something’s going on with the body, but you’re not going to prove it behind bars.”
“You can’t prove it on the run, Tahlia,” the chief shouted.
“And who’s going to help you?” I snapped. “Him? He’s ready to take you in. He doesn’t even believe you.”
She looked between the two of us, clearly unsure of who to trust.
“If you run now, you’ll be hunted down, Tahlia. Don’t listen to him.”
“I would never let you get hurt,” I said calmly. “I know it’s a lot to ask, but I need you to trust me. There’s more going on than a body being snatched. If you stay, you’ll be convicted because of an altered video. If you want answers, you only have one option, and that’s to come with me.”
“Don’t do it, Tahlia!”
She looked at the chief, but I could feel her shifting to my side. As much as she was scared, she needed answers, and the chief wasn’t about to provide them.
“It’s now or never, Tahlia. The police are on their way,” I snapped.
