As soon as I read the synopsis for this book, I wanted to read it. Dangerous girls is a dangerous read that will impair your judgement to do Anything else until you've finished it! Haas has taken several 'straight from the headlines' stories and molded them into her own with this delectable story of friendship, murder, betrayal and deceit. I assure you that you will NOT know who did it until Haas is ready for you to know. She is just that good of a story teller!Anna her boyfriend Tate and best friend Elise along with several other friends from school are off to Aruba for the vacation of a lifetime. Paradise quickly turns to Purgatory when Elise is found murdered, and then Anna and Tate are charged with the brutal crime. As days turn to weeks and then months, nearly everyone Anna knows turns against her, including Tate. She's left alone and miserable in a foreign country where everyone thinks they know her and believes her capable of the brutal murder of her best friend. Her only allies are her father, her defense attorney and a young State Department worker that shares a similar past with Anna. Can they convince the Aruban court judge of Anna's innocence? Or will she spend the rest of her life rotting away in prison for a crime she surely did not commit?
This was by far one of the best books I have read in a while! Twists and turns abound but not in a way as to confuse the reader. No, you know exactly where you are at any given moment, you just can't believe that is where you ended up. As soon as you think you know who killed Elise, Haas throws you another curve ball and leaves you questioning your decision, again. This book is so well written that when the identity of the killer is revealed your first instinct is to slap yourself for not seeing it, then going back through the book... um, wait, I really didn't see this coming!
This is a must read guys. If you love suspense, intrigue, gripping and generally jaw dropping scenarios, Dangerous girls is the book for you! 5/5 ... I'm kind of upset I can only give it 5 stars. Is there a higher rating system in another country I can borrow for this review??
