Happy Independence day everyone! Welcome to the Equal Rights blog hop presented by Queer Town Abbey. For this hop I'm going to talk about one of my first experiences in the LGBT community. I'm also going to share my books and where you can purchase them.
I'm lucky to be surrounded by either supportive or silent people when it comes to my writing. I see the blog posts circulating as of late where as someone is trying to tell me that as a straight woman I shouldn't be writing about gay men. Well, I'm here to say yes I can and these nay sayers can take the short bus around to kiss my ass! My friends and family, the people that support me, the important people in my life may not understand why I chose to write gay fiction, but they all support me regardless. The group of authors, bloggers and reviewers I'm friends with through social networks not only support me, but have helped me and encouraged me along the way.
I've been welcomed into this community with open arms and I'm proud to say I may be straight, but I am far from narrow. I'm an ally, I support this silly notion that every man or woman should be allowed to love whomever they chose to love. Regardless. Love is beautiful and it should be celebrated. And I celebrate it through my writing. I am honored to be so welcomed into this community of fantastically, fabulous people and I can't wait to see what the future brings.
So, now the fun stuff! I wrote this little series, Opposites. Thus far in the series there are two books available, Opposites and The Library, and I'm currently working on the second book Appearances. Opposites is an adult dystopian majorly M/M series that is set a few hundred years in the future in a society where to be gay/lesbian is the norm. To be straight labels you an Opposite and makes you the outkast.

What a cool idea to create a world where being straight is the weird one. Although, I guess if the society is going to continue, there have to be a few straight people to reproduce.
